There is a  hot new site on the internet, Saltwater 24/7, with some great “how to” and informational videos. Of course some of the first up relate to Eagle Claw and Lazer Sharp hooks and how to rig ‘em. What else would you expect. After all the hook is the only thing that ever touches a fish. Without a good hook, that expensive rod and reel is not much more than a fancy stick. Check these out:

    Speaking of salt water fishing…
We had a camping trip planned for the Labor Day weekend. On the way there, we heard that the bull reds were running, and wouldn’t you know it, I’d left the big gear at home. Well, we stopped at a respectable looking sporting goods store in Kaplan LA, bought a rod / reel combo with a Eagle Claw 300GL reel. Big, sturdy looking reel. At only $65 for the combo, I didn’t expect it to last for 20 years. But Eagle Claw; they make great hooks. They wouldn’t put their name on just anything, right?
Long story short, the reel didn’t even make the first day. The spooling guide stripped out and just stays on one side.

Thanks Eagle Claw, for dissapointing my 6 year old son. I won’t forget this.

Ed, We are Sorry about the performance of the rod and reel. I know the item and overall these are pretty good outfits and hold up under normal use. I can’t give back your day but we can make it right. That local store should honor a replacement for you. If not, all Eagle Claw rods and Reels come with a 1 year warranty if you return it to us.
I hope you give us the chance to make it right.
